Oct 29 2010: Tanker driver Jeremy is employee of the year
BARNSLEY tanker driver Jeremy Cook has been named employee of the year at the Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards.
The accolade comes just after Jeremy, a tanker driver for the Wombwell depot of Cooke Fuels, was crowned tanker driver of the year at a prestigious awards ceremony held at the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers Conference in Harrogate.
After receiving his latest award, 44-year-old Jeremy, who lives in Darfield, Barnsley, and has been with Cooke Fuels for more than 15 years, commented: “This award is a great achievement and gives recognition for the hard work and dedication I feel I give Cooke Fuels.
“Although each one of my colleagues would be equally deserving winners, Cooke Fuels appreciate and recognize their employees’ roles in ensuring excellent quality of service is given to each of our customers and winning this award endorses that approach.”
Cooke Fuels Sales and Marketing Director Lesley Eland commented: “Jeremy takes our values and not only implements them but always goes above and beyond the call of duty.
“He understands the wider issues of the business and continually brings in leads for the sales team.
“We value all our staff and invest in them but some are that extra bit special and Jeremy Cooke is one of those.”
Cooke Fuels, one of the UK’s largest independently owned fuel distributors, has been trading since 1845 and now has bases in Barnsley, Padiham in Lancashire, and Ellesmere Port.
