Jun 17 2026: Roundabout launches Talk It Out service in Rotherham

South Yorkshire youth homelessness charity Roundabout has expanded its pioneering Talk It Out service into Rotherham.

Talk It Out is Roundabout’s mediation service that supports young people and their families, fostering understanding by talking and listening, aiming to resolve conflicts to create a better way to move forward together.

Impartial mediators guide conversations without taking sides, allowing both young people and their families to express their concerns and explore solutions that work for everyone involved.

Taking a flexible approach, the service which is now being offered in Rotherham as well as Sheffield, offers confidential opportunities to talk over the phone, through video calls, in a private setting, or even sessions based around a walk.

Afterwards, there are chances for everyone involved to come together, discuss issues and negotiate outcomes.

“Having seen just how successful the Talk It Out approach has proved in Sheffield, we are delighted that we can now also offer the service to the many young people in Rotherham who are seeking our support,” said Rotherham Service Manager Scott Clark.

“The most common challenge faced by young people leading to homelessness is often related to strained relationships at home.

“This service, and the many different ways to access it, means there is a confidential way to talk to somebody who will listen to both sides without judgement,”
