Dec 02 2022: Feel the chill as Disney classic Frozen comes to Sheffield!

Let it go…and step into a magical world of icy sparkling adventure as Easy Street Theatre Company presents the regional stage premiere of Disney classic Frozen!

Inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen, the story of sisters Princess Anna and Princess Elsa and the frosty magical secret that almost tears them apart has become a timeless family favourite.

Now the specially authorised junior production of the adventure that became a movie smash and a Broadway and West End triumph comes to the new Westbourne School Junior Hall stage in Broomhill on January 28 and 29 in a version that includes all the favourite Disney characters - iceman Kristoff, Sven the Reindeer, Prince Hans of the Southern Isles and, of course, talking snowman Olaf.

Founded in 2009, Easy Street Theatre Company - voted best Youth Theatre in the North East 2020 and 2021 - offers Sheffield's young creative talent the finest professional-grade theatrical training.

With 50 members, each year the company performs two large budget shows at some of Sheffield's most prestigious theatres

Previous productions have included Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Footloose, West Side Story Sister Act, Chicago, Grease and Back to the 80s - winner of the 2021 NODA Best Youth Theatre award.

“We are truly delighted that with Frozen we are able to give Sheffield the premiere production of a show that has become one of the biggest family hits in showbiz history,” said Artistic Director Sallianne Foster-Major.

“We pride ourselves on training young people in all aspects of musical theatre and many of our past students have continued to study theatre at some of the UK's most prestigious drama institutions including Guildford School of Acting, Performance Preparation Academy and The London School of Musical Theatre.

“Our audiences are going to be truly amazed at the level of talent and dedication on stage with our production of Frozen and I think we can safely say that some of our young performers are going to be the stars of tomorrow.”

Frozen, presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International, will be on stage at 4pm and 7pm on January 28 and at 4pm on January 29.
