Feb 15 2021: Join Lost Chord for the Virgin Money Virtual London Marathon 2021

LEADING South Yorkshire dementia charity Lost Chord has been awarded two places in the 2021 Virgin Money Virtual London Marathon.

Lost Chord is the organisation that provides vital interactive musical experiences for people living with dementia in care homes and day centres both across the region and nationally.

And now the charity is looking for two runners who can take up the celebrated sporting challenge in its new virtual format and raise the most money for the charity as it continuers to work through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Held on October 3, the same day as the world famous marathon, competitors in the Virgin Money Virtual London Marathon will have 24 hours to complete the distance, either running or walking, with as many rest stops as they like…and all from their own home.

“Things are very different this year but we hope that the Virtual London Marathon will still be a great fundraising success for us,” said Lost Chord Chief Executive Helena Muller.

“The people we are looking for to represent us will not only have the level of stamina to complete the route of their choice but will also be able to raise the most significant amount of money.

“You get a downloadable app to check your distance and to ensure that you have completed the challenge properly and you receive a tea shirt and medal for  completing  the course.

“The most important thing, though, is that our runners will know every step they take is making a massive difference to the lives of people living with dementia.”
