FAIRIES, peers and members of Parliament…everybody wants to support St Luke’s Hospice!
Dore Gilbert and Sullivan Society are currently in rehearsal for their next show, the G&S classic Iolanthe, the political comedy about a fairy who falls in love with the Lord Chancellor and causes comic chaos in the House of Lords.
The show runs at the Montgomery Theatre in Surrey Street from April 10 to 13, with special collections at the end of every performance in aid of Sheffield’s only hospice.
And half the ticket proceeds for the Saturday evening performance will also be going to St Luke’s.
“We always like to support a charity with every show and this year we are delighted to be backing St Luke’s Hospice because we know how many people throughout Sheffield benefit every year from the hospice’s care and support,” said the society’s marketing manager Liz Allen.
