Jan 16 2013: Visitor figures on the up as Crystal Peaks celebrates 25 years
CRYSTAL Peaks shopping mall is celebrating a record-breaking year as it begins celebrations for its 25th anniversary.
The award winning Sheffield shopping complex and retail park has seen visitors numbers continue to rise in the past 12 months, with the opening of a new Marks & Spencer store at the site providing a major boost.
In December alone, the centre saw a visitor increase of 3.4 per cent compared to last year, with a total 1,663,084 people visiting the mall and neighbouring retail park.
It was the climax of an impressive year’s trading that saw 10,998,060 visitors to the mall – an increase of 2.2 percent - and 2,181,146 to the retail park, up by 0.5 percent.
And that brought the total for the year to 13,179,206 – an increase of 1.5 per cent!
“We are very pleased with the strong increase in footfall and sales in December and are looking forward to the steady growth experienced in 2012 continuing through into our anniversary year,” said centre manager Lee Greenwood.
“To reach over 13 million annual visitors is a real milestone and is a testament to the quality of the retail choice and range of services we now offer at Crystal Peaks Shopping Mall and Retail Park.”
