Jan 02 2013: Crystal Peaks celebrates 25 years with major new charity project
CRYSTAL Peaks is to celebrate 25 years of great shopping by launching 25 special charity projects.
Instead of simply choosing one charity of the year, the award-winning shopping mall will select 25 different charities or local organisations one for each year of successful trading.
And all the charities and organisations involved will be included in a series of special projects carried out by the Crystal Peaks team.
“We wanted to make our 25th anniversary celebrations as special and as inclusive as possible and that’s why we decided to move away from our usual single Charity of the Year approach,” said Crystal Peaks Retail and Marketing Manager Laura Mathewson.
“By throwing our charity support open to 25 different groups both the Crystal Peaks team and our shoppers and supporters will have the chance to help so many people in what we hope will be many different fun ways.”
The shopping centre is now looking for applications from charities and organisations that want to be considered for the year-long scheme.
“We want to hear from absolutely anybody who thinks we might be able to help them,” said Laura.
“That help could include anything from organising fundraisers within Crystal Peaks to us going out and giving our time for free to help with something like a community garden or a building project.
“Alternatively, you could find us taking part in a sponsored run or some other sort of challenge event.
“We have many different skills and that means that we should have the expertise to tackle a wide range of activities.
“The main thing is that we want to raise as much money as possible, help as many worthwhile causes as we can and make our 25th birthday a celebration for everybody!”
