HE’S worked with Brad Pitt, he won rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival...and now contemporary dance star Gary Clarke is set to take Liverpool gay arts festival Homotopia by storm!
The award winning Barnsley born choreographer and dancer – who is currently filming final scenes with Brad Pitt on Hollywood blockbuster WWZ - presents three of his most acclaimed works at the Capstone Theatre at Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus on Saturday November 3.
Mentored and directed by the late Nigel Charnock, Horsemeat is Gary’s bold, brash and brutally honest autobiographical solo that confronts the gritty realities surrounding love, life, sexuality and the pains of growing up a gay man.
In Liverpool, the piece will be performed by acclaimed Polish dancer Janusz Orlik.

Following its sensational run at the Edinburgh Festival, A Beautiful Hell sees nine young men – Edge Hill University’s all male dance company Edge FWD – present a vivid landscape of dreams and desires that explores the notion of exclusion and what it means to be an outsider.

Finally, Bitter Suite – performed by dancers from 12 Degrees North, a new and innovative pilot programme which supports the transition from training to professional practice for graduates of dance and performing arts - sees Gary throw together six women and one man in a fast, furious but also touching portrayal of human relationships.
Gary Clarke’s triple bill is on stage at the Capstone Theatre, Liverpool Hope University Creative Campus, 17 Shaw Street, Liverpool, L6 1HP, on November 6 at 7.30pm.
