Sep 28 2012: New plans for Ecclesfield Trinity Methodist Church
AWARD winning architectural consultancy Coda Studios has received permission from Sheffield City Council for the conversion of the historic Ecclesfield Trinity Methodist Church into eight apartments.
The imposing landmark on Ecclesfield High Street was built in 1897 but now stands empty.
Permission already existed for the building to be converted into six apartments but, after a period of further consultation, Coda’s designers came up with a revised plan for eight units that has now been given permission to go ahead.
“This is a building of great historic merit within the community of Ecclesfield and we want to retain its unique character,” said Coda Managing Director David Cross.
“It is not a listed building but it is within the local conservation area and we worked with the planners to ensure our revised plans did not affect neighbouring properties.
“Not only are we creating apartments to the highest specification, we are also preserving an important site at the historic heart of Ecclesfield.”
