Jan 18 2010: Developing the DNA of great design

DOMINO Commercial Interiors has appointed a new director as the award-winning Sheffield company prepares for major expansion in 2010.
Sandor Polyhos has almost 20 years of workplace consultancy experience, working on highly prestigious design and fit-out projects including 10 Downing Street, the Palace of Westminster, the BBC and Bank of New York Mellon.
The 38-year-old Yorkshireman also brings an extensive background of working in commercial property, concentrating on the interior design and development of high performance working environments.
He has worked with many global blue chip companies, including GE and IBM, identifying how they utilise their working spaces and helping them to maximise the potential of their workforce through inspired use of design.
His appointment as a director of Domino Commercial Interiors, based in the Handsworth area of Sheffield, will see him developing an important new brand for the company, Workspace DNA.
“Workspace DNA is all about understanding how people work, looking at the demographics of the workforce and the different dynamics of each social and working group,” he said.
“It’s about giving our clients the sort of workspace that enables them to help their business to grow, creating areas that are effective and efficient and not just about cramming people into a building.
“Domino already has an excellent reputation for providing first class fit-outs and re-fits, but Workspace DNA will develop the Domino standard for excellence to a whole new level.
“Our design solutions will be as unique as the organisations we are working for, understanding what our clients want and developing ideas that match their individual needs.Domino managing director Michael Peckett added:  “Sandor’s appointment, and the development of our Domino Workspace DNA brand are strategic developments which will enable us to deliver client projects which surpass their expectations. We further believe that this will help us to develop Domino as an aspirational brand for existing and new clients – we want clients who want to work with us, as much as we want to work with them.”
