Jan 07 2010: Taylor Oliver success supports Rwandan family charity

FINANCIAL planners The Taylor Oliver Partnership are sharing their success as they become involved in a project to help families in the war-ravaged African country of Rwanda.
The Chesterfield-based company is on target to enjoy its most profitable year of growth since its 2002 launch.
And partners Steve Taylor and Louise Oliver decided that they wanted to share some of that success with the wider community.
So when they heard about Freespirit, the Sheffield charity that supports families who survived the years of war and genocide in the African country of Rwanda, they agreed to become involved.
The 1994 civil war left 70 per cent of Rwanda’s population living below the poverty line in a country where 65,000 households are headed by children and schooling and medical care are in desperately short supply.
Steve and Louise have adopted Clemantine Nyinawumuntu, a mother of five who will be able to rebuild her life and get the training she needs to find herself a job with the support The Taylor Oliver Patnership provides.
“To a woman like Clemantine and her family it really could mean the start of a whole new life,” said Steve.
“What we particularly liked about this scheme is that we will be able to maintain personal contact with Clemantine and her family and it is my hope that eventually we will even be able to go to Rwanda and see for ourselves how she has progressed.”
Steve added that he hoped other people would follow their lead and start to make regular donations to the cause.
“We have clients who are interested in supporting worthwhile causes and I think this is an excellent project,” he said. “It’s a great way of celebrating personal success and paying something back.”
