Aug 03 2015: Join Lesley Garrett for glittering Lost Chord gala dinner

THERE’S still time to join international opera star Lesley Garrett for a glittering gala dinner in support of dementia charity Lost Chord at South Yorkshire’s historic Wentworth Woodhouse.

The celebrated Doncaster Diva is a patron of the charity that provides vital interactive musical experiences for people living with dementia across the region and nationally.

The September 19 event will be held in the imposing setting of the Marble Hall at Wentworth Woodhouse and will include a drinks reception accompanied by the highly acclaimed Ampleforth Piped Band, entertainment from a magician, a four course meal with wine, as well as entertainment throughout the meal from Lost Chord’s professional musicians and a tour of the main state rooms.

And the highlight of the evening at one of the most spectacular stately homes in Europe will be Lesley’s performance of some of the opera world’s greatest arias.

More than 70 per cent of the tickets to the event have already been sold and demand for the remainder is high so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Tickets to the black tie event cost £110 and are available by calling 01709 811160 or by visiting www.lost-chord.org.uk

“Lesley was with us for our 15th anniversary dinner at Wentworth Woodhouse last year and the occasion was a sell out and such an enormous success that we were truly delighted when she agreed to join us again,” said Lost Chord Chief Executive Helena Muller.

“Places for this incredible evening are strictly limited and we do recommend an early response to avoid disappointment as this is a rare opportunity to hear one of the world’s great sopranos singing in a fabulous historic setting.

“Big Lottery funding has run out this year therefore your support at this fantastic evening will help to keep Lost Chord going for another year, helping to raise vital funds in an attempt to transform the lives of all those living with dementia.”
