Jul 31 2015: Brewers raise a glass to homeless charity Roundabout
RAISE a glass to Exit 33 Brewing and a new pale ale that will be support Sheffield young people’s homeless charity Roundabout.
The brewers at Exit 33, based at the Harlequin Pub on Nursery Street in Kelham Island, organised a Brew Day complete with a competition to help launch a new drink.
And winner Annie Stoker was able to assist as Managing Director Pete Roberts and the team as they created the new brew, Charity Pale, which is now on sale in support of Roundabout.
Roundabout is the homeless charity that supports 150 homeless young people across Sheffield every day and has the only emergency hostel in the city for young homeless people aged 16 to 21.
It’s Homeless Prevention Service, based in Union Street in Sheffield city centre, also offers advice and support to young people who are close to becoming homeless due to the breakdown of family relationships.
“We depend on the generous support of organisations like Exit 33 in raising the funds we need to maintain our services,” said Roundabout Chief Executive Ben Keegan.
“Every pint of Charity Pale that is sold will be raising money for Roundabout and giving a boost to the many young people we support every day.”
Exit 33 Managing Director Pete Roberts commented: “We are proud to support a local charity that does such great work.
“I get approached by non-Sheffield charities regularly but it’s important the cause is local.
“The beer is available at other pubs around Sheffield, not just the Harlequin – so everyone should look out for it!”
