Sep 12 2013: A taste of autumn at The Devonshire Arms Middle Handley
THERE’S a genuine taste of autumn in the new menu at the award-winning Devonshire Arms at Middle Handley.
The acclaimed pub and restaurant in the picturesque village of Middle Handley between Sheffield and Chesterfield is now serving a selection of dishes that captures the atmosphere of the year’s most golden and mellow season.
A range of starters priced between £5.50 and £6.25 includes Ham, Egg and Pineapple featuring the hand made Ham Hock Scotch Egg that won a Gold Medal at this year’s Bakewell Show.
Other choices include roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Smoked Mackerel Rillette, Mrs Bell’s Blue Cheese Panna Cotta and Chicen Liver Parfait.
Main courses range from £12 to £17 and include Slow Cooked Shoulder of lamb, a Whole Baked Lemon Sole, Calves’ Liver Bourguignon, Farmers’ Blonde Battered Cod and Chips, a 10oz Gammon Steak, Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast, Roasted Celeriac Risotto, Real Fillet Steak Burger and Venison and Beast Cheek Pie.
There are four different steaks to choose from, with prices ranging from £16.95 to £24.95.
To match the food selection, the Devonshire Arms also offers an extensive wine list by the glass or bottle.
“Once again our Head Chef Tom Lawson has created a menu that fully reflects the change of the season and makes the most of locally sourced produce,” said manager Alistair Myers.
“Whether you’re looking for a light lunch or for a full evening meal, we are confident we have created a menu that should meet everybody’s needs.”
