Aug 21 2013: Lost Chord launches new website at Barnsley College event

BARNSLEY Central MP Dan Jarvis will be the guest of honour at a special evening at Barnsley College on September 20 to celebrate the launch of a new website for leading dementia charity Lost Chord.

Lost Chord is the South Yorkshire based organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of people struggling with dementia through the power of music.

The charity’s year-round programme of interactive musical events visits care homes and day centres throughout the region and nationally, improving quality of life for almost 1,500 people every month.

The special evening at Barnsley College – keen supporters of the charity – will include a drinks reception and a special performance by two of Lost Chord’s most popular musicians, international soprano Deborah Norman and pianist Andrea Kmecova.

“Lost Chord needs to raise £290,000 annually to keep our current programme running and our new website includes many ways that people can get involved, either as a volunteer at our musical sessions or as a fundraiser,” said the charity’s founder and Chief Executive, Helena Muller.

“We have many homes on our waiting list, all desperate to start taking our concerts so please do visit www.lost-chord.org.uk and find out how you too can help make a difference to the lives of people living with dementia.”
