Jan 22 2013: Bollywood beat boosts Lost Chord

BOLLYWOOD glamour came to Rotherham…and raised £2,000 for dementia charity Lost Chord.

Presented by the United Multicultural Centre, the charity Bollywood Ball was held at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium.

Lost Chord, the organisation that provides vital interactive musical stimulation for people living with dementia in care homes and day centres across the region, was one of the main beneficiaries of the event, along with Rotherham Hospice and Rotherham Hospital Charity.

“Music touches all our lives in so many ways and is vital for making a link with people living with dementia,” said Lost Chord Chief Executive Helena Muller.

“Here it was the music of Bollywood that made a difference to the lives of so many people across the region and we are extremely grateful for the support of the United Multicultural Centre and in particular for all the effort that Parveen Qureshi and her staff put in to making the event a real success.

“That support is particularly important to us at a time when we are actively researching ways of taking our work into new areas and communities.”
